Cheese, Wild Boar, Olive Oil, OH MY!

Fresh Cheese!

Today we toured Olanda Cheese Factory in Puglia.  There is a specialty made in this region called Burrata. We were able to sample this cheese and learn how the factory makes their creations. 

Afterwards we headed to Castel Del Monte to see the hunting lodge for Frederica the 8th.  This castel was used as a hunting lodge where they would hunt wild boar and then roast it for grand feasts.  The view from here was absolutely breathtaking, che bellissima!

Other highlights before dinner included meeting olive oil producers and stone artists.  We might be able to import some of the olive oil in time!

Lastly, we ended our day at a great restaurant, Antica Sapori.  The chef owner, Pietro Zito prepared a wonderful meal.  His gardens was inspiring.  When you have gorgeous products to use, cooking is more like creating a masterpiece each and every time you set about the kitchen.
