YES! A customer came in the other day and commented about the last time she was in for dinner. She had a fabulous meal and the most amazing thing happened during dinner. She pointed to a table and proceeded to tell the story of how a blond lady was sitting there and all of a sudden picked up her plate and licked it clean! The customer was so astonished and just couldn't believe a grown woman did that in public. We laughed a little and said, "Well it must have been good".
Then Girl 4, Justine, said that while Girl 1, Marie, was serving a customer the other night, a man commented how good the food was. He said he wanted to "lick the plate".
In her casual manner Marie, said, "Go ahead", with a laugh and nod. Well just then he picked up his plate and proceeded to lick it clean!
Now we are not suggesting to throw table manners out the window. However, we are thrilled and delighted that our food is pleasing to the customers and they feel comfortable enough to enjoy themselves just like at a family table.
This is after all a family table experience with real authentic Italian food, just like our Nonna served us years ago. So we won't tell if you want to lick the plate, "Go Ahead"!
We are 2nd generation Italo Americans from the Puglia Region. Our story is like many Italo Americans brought together via tradition, laughter, family and food. Since we could walk, we were in our grandparents' gardens reaching for the prized "seed" tomato. The "tasty tomato" is our life force; metaphor for love, food, tradition, memories, comfort, the market, summer canning, harvest, celebration, and much more. Share our family traditions as we build upon the legacy of our Italian Ancestry.
Food Is...
Family, Tradition, Memories, Flavors, Gatherings, Laughter, Life, Vitality, Comfort...Love.
