We have landed at the MILAN airport, met our driver and had a two hour drive to Rapallo.
Our hotel is on the Gulf of Rapallo, Italia e Lido. All of the rooms have a sea view.
After
room assignments we had a prepared lunch. We started with a nice Vedmintino wine made in the region pared nicely with homemade, wide cut
noodles all cut with different shapes; some bigger some smaller. (Not sure
how to spell the correct type pasta that was made). The pasta was served in a mullet sauce.
The second course was a rotini pasta made with pancetta and tomato.
Tonight we will be going to visit Raffaello's father's home. After such a grand welcome, it is time for a nap. Ciao Tutti!
The third course was a baked cod in the style of the region. It was served with an artichoke tort and mash potato, carrots with butter and mint. Talk about a surprising combination. We ended the meal with a nice custard in caramel sauce.
